the issue of school choice

I’m doing some research for next week’s College Republican discussion on the topic of School Choice/Vouchers and found a few links from Cato that illustrate how the issue is both mainstreaming as well as going bipartisan in some states, gaining the support of Democrats as well as Republicans.  Needless to say, this revelation surprised me and blew away my conception of the issue as bitterly partisan.  Hm.  Interesting.

As The Dems Turn (To School Choice)

I’m definitely going to bring this article up to the group, on the subject of tax credits instead of vouchers.  I agree with Adam Schaeffer when he says

“[T]here never was a voucher movement to begin with. It has always been movement for educational freedom, and it is still going strong.”

More on this issue as I understand it!

Have it good,
